Anita Scribner, MD, Texas
Anita Scribner spent her childhood in Wills Point, Texas, aside from one year in northern Italy as a foreign exchange student. She attended the University of Texas and received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. She subsequently obtained a Master of Sciences in Public Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center– Houston. She completed her Medical Degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center – San Antonio. She served her residency at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis for Internal Medicine, then worked at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center for her fellowship in Infectious Diseases. She joined the Diagnostic Clinic of Longview, Texas, in 1999 and has served continuously as an infectious disease consultant at both Longview Regional Medical Center and Good Shepherd. She holds board certifications in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. She has served as a physician at Special Health Resources since 2002 and now serves as their Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Anita continues to lead medical teams to Kenya and has done so since 2007. She is the founder of Curatio Mundi. Her greatest joy has been to fund the education of over 300 vulnerable children in that country. Dr. Scribner is a founding director for Always Mercy and Rehema Hospice and Clinic. BACK
